Job Description:● Responsible for procurement of direct materials● Knowledge on customs documentation & import documentation is added advantage● The job holder is responsible for the daily supervision of Tactical, Strategic co-ordination of its activities in line with procurement strategy
Main responsibilities:● To Co-ordinate the Strategic, Tactical Buying and expediting roles at HHVTT● To execute effective Strategic Procurement systems and practice that lead to best industry standards● To work with throughout HHVTT resolving specific procurement and quality issues that prevent delivery to customer requirements● Work with Operations Management to generate daily, weekly and monthly reports determined within agreed parameters● To foster good working relationships with all inter departments and process linked to order fulfilment● To drive improvement in materials availability and costs by effective sourcing and development of the HHVTT vendor base● Ensuring competitive (landed/applied) cost, reliable supply, technical support and innovation● Day to Day placing of orders and management of commodity and supplier procurement as agreed with the strategic sourcing Manager as required● Commercial negotiation with new sources to HHVTT to deliver planned product line materials margins● Contract review and negotiation to achieve turnaround of problem suppliers● Maintains daily supplier co-ordination activities along with the added complexity of Supervising and managing the procurement team● Co-ordination with staff and vendors regarding procedural requirements (e.g ordering and purchasing procedures, available funds etc) for the purpose of facilitating the purchasing process with established practices● Maintains purchasing documents, files and records (e.g requests for proposal, vendor files etc) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines● Follows up on orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates
